Prophet: |
A person inspired by God to teach, proclaim, declare or for-tell the Word of God. A prophet speaks forth the message of God for a particular situation. God uses them to communicate messages to the world. In Christianity there are four major prophets (Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel and Daniel) along with the 12 minor prophets. The prophets are people of prayer who have intimate relationships with God.

Prophecy: |
An inspired statement of a prophet, often viewed as a revelation of divine will. A prediction of what will happen in the future based on divine inspiration. This prediction is based on God’s word, which is always truthful, and so will never be wrong. Prophecies rely on the authority of God or the information he has given. He alone has the ability to know the future.
